We know it’s hot ! Did you know that Exeter Unified School District installed our own weather station last year in our Stadium? With the weather station, and the “Perry Weather” app, coaches, our athletic trainer, and admin can monitor the “wet bulb globe thermometer” temperature, as well as air quality. The wet bulb globe thermometer measures not just air temperature, but radiant heat, humidity, sunlight, and wind speed to calculate the total heat stress on the human body. The app tells coaches what restrictions are required with any increase in temperature, as well as any decrease in air quality. Coaches know that once the WBGT temperature hits 92° (92° on the WBGT IS NOT the same as 92°) or air quality reaches that “very unhealthy” level, practices are cancelled.
Monarch Athletics is proud to announce a new sport for our student-athletes, STUNT. Stunt is a competitive team sport derived from cheerleading that focuses on athletic execution through a head-to-head, four-quarter game format. If partner tumbling, jumping, pyramids, and getting tossed into the air sounds like fun, don’t hesitate to reach out to our brand new head Stunt Coach, Amber Garnett. Coach Garnett also comes with years and years of experience in dance, cheer, and stunting. This is a spring sport, and you don’t have to be in fall or winter cheer to participate. Stop by the main office and talk to Coach Garnett if you have any questions.

Coaches, athletes, and families, we hope you’ve enjoyed getting some rest these past two weeks. Athletics returns next week !
